A five-turn sandstorm is summoned to hurt all combatants except the Rock, Ground, and Steel types.Effect
Changes the weather to a sandstorm for five turns. Pokémon that are not Ground, Rock, or Steel take damage equal to 1/16 their max HP at the end of every turn. Every Rock Pokémon's original Special Defense is raised by 50% for the duration of this effect.
If the user is holding Smooth Rock, this effect lasts for eight turns.
Solar Beam's power is halved.
Moonlight, Morning Sun, and Synthesis only heal 1/4 the user's max HP.
Pokémon with Sand Veil are exempt from this effect's damage. Pokémon with Sand Rush have doubled original Speed. Pokémon with Sand Force deal 30% more damage with Ground, Rock and Steel moves.
