Distrike can straighten their tails and change the charges of the spines on their backs, and so control exactly where lightning will strike them. The metal running along their bodies distributes collected electricity, directing it wherever it is needed for attacks.
A Distrike's skeleton is made entirely of highly-conductive metal. They can instantly charge their muscles with energy from lightning strikes and run faster than the eye can follow. They hunt in the aftermath of large storms because their prey will have no chance to outrun them.
